It is necessary to do clinical practice education to creat the knowledge and improve the abilities for solving the problems of the targets by adjusting the nursing knowledge of practical works. The assessment of clinical practice education means helping the students’ studying and improving the practice teaching by estimating of the achievement in clinical practice education. For this we should develope the reasonable and trustful device of clinical practice assessment. In this study, we tried to find the current problems of practical assessment for objective and reasonable practical assessment in the fundamentals nursing class and the adults’ nursing class. And with this, we tried to contribute to the effective practice education by developing detailed assessment contents. The subjects were forty people who the nursing professors working in the Armed Forces Nursing Academy and the head nursing officials in the OO forces hospital. The data had been collected from Aug. 16th in 2004 to Sep. 15th in 2004 and analyzed through SPSS/window program which can use the hundred percentage, means, standard deviation and Cronbach’s α coefficient.
Belows are results.
1. The estimating device of fundamentals nursing is composed of 15 questions from 8 questions are good attitudes and 7 questions are the adjustment of nursing knowledge and skills. Finally the average score was 4.58, Cronbach’s α = .92.
2. The estimating device of adults nursing(ward) is composed of 26 questions from 8 questions are good attitudes, 9 questions are the adjustment of nursing knowledge and skills and 9 questions are judgment and solving abilities of nursing problems. At the end the average score was 4.67, Cronbach’s α = .94.
3. The estimating device of adults nursing(operating room) is composed of 16 questions from 8 questions are good attitudes and 8 questions are the adjustment of nursing knowledge and skills. At the end the average score was
4.61, Cronbach’s α = .93
4. The way of estimating the fundamentals of nursing device in each questions
was proved to be observed one.
5. The good attitudes was proved to be the best observed way in the estimating device of adults nursing(ward), the oral test and observation etc. were proved to be the best one in the adjustment of nursing knowledge and skills and case study, group mapping/presentation, observation, recording were proved to be the best one in the judgment and solving abilities of nursing problems.
6. In the estimating device of adults nursing(operating room), the way of estimating in each questions was proved to recognize mostly the oral test, recording and observation.
In this study, even though the developed clinical practice assessment of cadet was proved to be trustful and reasonable, the more studying is needed to improve the power of explanation of estimating device and we should use it carefully in expanding usage because it corresponds to the aim of education in the Armed Forces Nursing Academy.
